Although commonly sold and grown as an outdoor annual, the wax begonia also makes an excellent year-round houseplant. Wax begonias have thick stems, and waxy green leaves. They will also bloom continuously year-round. Different varieties are available with different colored flowers, but most are available in shades of pinks and white.
