A
native of South Africa, Spider Plants
are probably one of the most beloved
and well-known of all houseplants.
Spider plants have long, grass-like
green or variegated leaves, and occasional
small white flowers. Spider Plants
are best known for the small plantlets
or spider babies that they form on
long stems. These spider babies can
be put in soil, and quickly and easily
propagated into new plants. Spider
plants grow best, and produce babies
when slightly pot-bound. But beware
that spider plants do not become too
root bound, as they grow very fast,
and will need to be re-potted frequently.
